Ring sizing
Finding the correct ring size is important for both comfort and security. The guidance below will help you choose the most comfortable fit.
Before ordering
The most reliable way to determine your ring size is to have your finger measured by a professional jeweller. If you’re able to visit my studio, I’ll measure your finger using both narrow and wide ring sizers to establish the most comfortable fit for your chosen design. Alternatively, most local jewellers can provide an accurate measurement.
Measuring an existing ring
If you already own a ring that fits well and is similar in width and style to the one you’re considering, it can provide a useful guide. Either bring it to the studio or ask a local jeweller to measure it on a ring mandrel.
A few things to bear in mind
Finger size changes with temperature, time of day and activity.
Measure when your hands are at a comfortable, normal temperature- not immediately after being very hot or cold.
A well-fitting ring should pass over the knuckle with slight resistance - particularly when being removed - but sit comfortably at the base of the finger with a little movement to allow for natural changes in finger size throughout the day.
Finger shapes vary. If your knuckle is noticeably wider than the base of your finger, professional sizing is particularly helpful.
Wider bands - around 6mm or more - often require a slightly larger size than narrow bands.
