Made to be worn

Your jewellery is made to become part of your everyday life. It is designed to be worn often, enjoyed fully and to develop the subtle character that comes with time.

Like all fine jewellery, however, it deserves care. Precious metals and natural gemstones are reasonably durable, but they are certainly not indestructible, and protecting them from knocks and harsh chemicals will help them remain beautiful for many years.

Everyday care

To keep your jewellery looking its best:

  • Remove it before heavy lifting, gardening, DIY or contact sports.

  • Avoid wearing it in swimming pools or hot tubs, where chlorine can damage precious metals.

  • Apply perfume, hairspray and cosmetics before putting your jewellery on.

  • Store pieces separately when not being worn to help prevent scratching.

Cleaning

Most jewellery can be cleaned at home using warm water, a small amount of mild washing-up liquid and a soft toothbrush.

Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.

If your piece contains pearls, opals or other delicate gemstones, or if you’re unsure how to clean it, simply get in touch before attempting to clean it yourself.

Gemstone settings

Every stone is carefully set by hand before it leaves the studio.

During regular wear however any setting can gradually loosen. If you ever notice movement, hear a rattle or have any concerns, my advice would be to stop wearing the piece and contact the studio to arrange a check. 

Warranty

Every piece is covered by a 12-month craftsmanship warranty from the date of purchase. This covers faults in materials or craftsmanship arising during normal wear.

It does not cover:

  • accidental damage;

  • normal wear and tear;

  • damage caused by misuse or failure to follow care guidelines; or

  • alterations or repairs carried out by another jeweller.

If you suspect a fault has developed, please contact the studio with your order details and photographs of the piece. This will allow me to assess the issue and, where necessary, arrange to inspect the piece in person before advising whether any repair is required. Where a repair is required and covered by the warranty, it will be carried out without charge.

The warranty is provided in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights.
